INTRODUCTION

I started Paper Rage because I wanted to put art on paper first. From the earliest days of my personal education in art, I have encountered artists who have relied upon paper as the consistent basis for their work, whether to mount other pieces onto it, or to use it as the prima materia in specific focus. As I began to expand the geographical periphery of my encounters with paper-based art I realized how diverse it had become. I started this project because I felt I had to become a voice for it. As an art form originating out of the need to reinvigorate creative norms, it makes such perfect sense that the artist would revisit their process in the use of paper. There are many examples of how it’s being currently exemplified that I plan to present here on Paper Rage.
